How does the lead capture work?

A built-in form collects visitor name, email, phone, and a short message. You choose when it appears: as a gate before the chat (visitor must fill it before they can chat); as a gate with the visitor's first message pre-typed in the form (the message is forwarded to the chatbot as soon as the visitor confirms — works well when you want to qualify the contact before the bot starts answering); or after the visitor's first message (the form raises in place of the chatbot reply — more conversational, higher conversion). Captured leads land in your dashboard for review and CSV export. The form respects the visitor's consent, with a privacy checkbox before submission.

What does the chatbot answer for my shoppers?

Whatever you upload. Most stores upload their shipping policy, return policy, sizing guide, About page, and FAQ as PDF or paste them in as text. The chatbot then answers questions like "do you ship to Canada?", "what's your return window?", "how do I know my size in your fit?", "what's the fabric?". For questions the chatbot can't answer, you configure a fallback — typically "let me get our team to follow up — what's your email?" — and the chatbot captures the contact for you.

Will it integrate with my Shopify, WooCommerce, or other store platform?

Honestly, no — not in the way platform-native apps do. Simple Chat is a chat widget that loads via a script tag. It does NOT pull live product data, does NOT see your orders, customers, or inventory, and is NOT a Shopify App Store app. It works from the content you upload (policies, FAQs, sizing guides). How long does setup take?

Will it work on my mobile checkout?

The chat widget appears on every page where you've placed the script tag, including mobile views. It's a standalone widget — not part of your checkout flow. We deliberately stay out of checkout: if a shopper has a question mid-checkout, the chat is there as a side panel they can open without losing their cart. We don't inject anything into the checkout form itself, so we won't conflict with your payment processor or break a customized checkout. The mobile experience is full-screen, with a back gesture to dismiss — patterns shoppers already know from messaging apps.

What about cart recovery emails?

The chatbot doesn't send abandoned-cart emails directly — that's your email tool's job (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Omnisend, your platform's built-in flow). What the chatbot does is capture the email earlier in the journey, before the cart even exists. Once the email is in your list, your existing automation does the rest. If you want the chatbot to actively capture emails before checkout, set the lead capture to "before chat" or "with first message" — both timings get the email in your hands while the shopper is still engaged.

Can I cancel anytime?
